Thanks for taking the time to write this comment, you might have a valid arguement, but we think we do too. By no means would we ever purposefully demean or insult such a significant icon by such a great artist, may his soul rest in peace. 

Naji Al Ali did indeed draw Handala’s face once and this was based on that drawing. Turning his back on us does have a story, but so does the fact that we chose to have him face the viewer in this specific poster, mainly because – like you said – we now live in a much different time.

If you could send us again – not anonymously – then we could at least manage to have an actual conversation.
